THE STORY LINE

The story revolves around a group of quirky high school girls and their teachers. Each girl has their own personality - Chiyo Mihama, the ultra cute pigtailed 10 year old genius who was transferred to high school from elementary school because of her intellect; Tomo Takino, the loud and boisterous one who is always up for a challenge (though not too good at schoolwork!); Koyomi Mizuhara, the spectacle wearing self-appointed "Crying Diet Girl" who is always trying to battle her bulge; Ayumu "Osaka" Kasuga, a daffy Osakan who comes out with outlandish theories on life and all sorts of other weird and useless facts; Sakaki, the tall and somewhat quiet one who has a weakness for anything cute and fluffy (especially cats); Kagura, the sporty tanned girl who, although bad at english, is excellent at running; and Kaorin, the sappy one who worships Sakaki and all that she does.
The teachers are also just as odd, including Yukari Tanizaki, the ill tempered and childish English teacher and class 3 homeroom tutor who likes a few drinks and loves playing video games; Minamo "Nyamo" Kurosawa, the tolerant P.E. teacher and Class 2 homeroom tutor, who perseveres with Yukari's embarrassing episodes and tantrums, and Kimura Sensei, the self confessed high school girl loving Japanese classics teacher, who loves nothing more than to watch the girls in their swimsuits doing their workouts by the pool. He also has a soft spot for Kaorin!
There is no "plot" as such, but each episode in the animated series is a string of 5 minute shorts, which are adapted very well from the original comic strips by Azuma that used to feature in "Dengeki Daiou". Every episode is both hilarious and unlike any anime I have ever seen. Definitely a great laugh and something that everyone can enjoy. The voice talent by itself is one of a kind!
